Mixed Media Artist | Contemporary Abstracts

Kimberly Furnell is a Nanaimo-based mixed-media artist whose expressive work explores the interplay of colour, texture and light.

Blending abstraction with recognizable imagery, Furnell creates richly layered compositions that balance moody, atmospheric backgrounds with vibrant colour and unexpected moments of whimsy. Her paintings often incorporate floral motifs, familiar / playful objects, and religious cultural icons, inviting viewers to discover small narratives within their intricate surfaces.

Her work moves between the expressive and the nostalgic, finding beauty in contrast and offering a fresh, imaginative perspective on the everyday.
